The jewelry empire known as Cartier has a legacy that leads all the way back to the nineteenth century Paris. Like his namesake and grandfather, Louis Francois Cartier took on the role of becoming a dedicated goldsmith. He began by working as an apprentice to an acclaimed jeweler named Adolphe Picard, and through this, Cartier developed his personal craft by assisting in the production of some of Paris’ finest handmade jewelries.

Upon Picards death in 1847, Cartier took the helms of the business and therefore built up the luxurious Botique Les Must de Cartier that still exists today.
